The speculation about the release of former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, lodged in Patiala jail in connection with the road rage case, has intensified on April 1. Although the jail administration has kept silence in this regard, Narinder Pal Lali, former head of District Congress Committee Urban, who is very close to Sidhu, confirmed this and said that vigorous preparations have been started for the reception.
In the form of a procession, Sidhu will be brought to his Kothi in Patiala after his release from jail. During this, he will be welcomed at various places. Where anchor will also be installed. Significantly, in the road rage case, the Supreme Court had sentenced Sidhu to one year imprisonment. After this he surrendered in Patiala Court on 20 May.
But in the sentence till now, Sidhu did not take parole even once. According to experts, except for the prisoners lodged in drug smuggling and other serious crimes, everyone else is given a relaxation of four to five days in a month on the basis of their performance and conduct in their work. Apart from this, the prisoner also gets the benefit of some government holidays. In such a situation, it is estimated that Sidhu can be released from jail on April 1 by taking advantage of this exemption.
