Lakshya Sen Won Canada Open Badminton 2023: Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen has won the men’s singles title at the Canada Open 2023 by defeating the current All England champion Chinese player Li Shi Feng in straight sets 21-18, 22-20. Lakshya Sen had earlier won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games as well. Lakshya Sen has won the BWF World Tour 500 title for the second time in his career.
Lakshya Sen had earlier won this title in January 2022 when he won the India Open. After the final match lasted for about 50 minutes, Lakshya Sen won the match. This was the sixth meeting of Lakshya with the Chinese player in his career, in which he has now made his win-loss record 4-2. In the last few years, the 21-year-old Lakshya has got to see a great game on the court.

In the semi-final match of Canada Open 2023, Lakshya Sen confirmed his place in the final by defeating Japan’s 11th ranked player Kento Nishimoto 21-17 and 21-14. Due to the lack of better performance of the Indian shuttler in the last few years, he has reached the 19th position in terms of ranking.
Japanese player won the title in women’s singles
Talking about the women’s singles event, Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi defeated Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon by 21-19 and 21-16 to win the title. Star shuttler PV Sindhu, participating in the women’s singles event from India, had to face defeat in the semi-finals.
