IPL 2021, CSK vs MI: Ruturaj Gaikwad (88*) scored his career-best innings as Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs in the first match of the second leg of IPL 2021 on Sunday. CSK batted first and scored 156 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, MI’s team could only score 136 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. With this win, Dhoni Brigade has become number-1 in the IPL 2021 points table. They have 12 points from 8 matches with 6 wins.
Mumbai batsmen disappointed
Chasing the target of 157 runs, Mumbai was very disappointed by the batsmen. Quinton de Kock (17), Anmolpreet Singh (16), Suryakumar Yadav (3), Ishan Kishan (11), Kieron Pollard (15) and Krunal Pandya (4) were dismissed cheaply. Saurabh Tiwary (50 *) remained at one end, but could not win the match for the team. Nothing amazing was expected from Adam Milne (15) and Rahul Chahar (0). The most successful CSK side was Dwayne Bravo, who took three wickets. Deepak Chahar got two successes. Josh Hazlewood and Shardul Thakur got one wicket each.
CSK had a blast despite a poor start

Mumbai Indians’ fast bowlers Trent Boult and Adam Milne spoiled the start of CSK, dropping their 4 wickets for just 24 runs. After this, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja (26) shared 81 runs for the fifth wicket and took the team’s score beyond 100 runs. Then Dwayne Bravo (23) scored 23 runs in just 8 balls with the help of three sixes.
Thanks to Gaikwad’s fine innings, CSK made a respectable score. Trent Boult, Adam Milne and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each for Mumbai. Soon the innings of Mumbai Indians will start.
