A tribal youth who had gone to see a JCB vehicle engaged in road construction work at Pratappur in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh was tied to a JCB and thrashed overnight by the henchmen of the contractor alleging theft. The video of the beating of the young man has gone viral on social media, in which the young man has told that he was beaten up by the henchmen of the contractor for the whole night by spitting on his slippers. An atmosphere of tension has been created in Pratappur area due to the incident. People’s representatives of BJP-Congress and Sarva Adivasi Samaj have strongly condemned the matter.
