During the Amarnath Yatra, six people died within two days. On Friday, officials said that the death toll in the pilgrimage so far this year has risen to nine. The authorities have not given much information about the reasons for this.

The cause of death is believed to be one of the common causes of heart attack due to high altitude and low oxygen. According to officials, 25 people have been injured during the yatra so far. Those who lost their lives include eight passengers and one ITBP personnel.

Tokens issued to 3000 more devotees

One gets good luck by visiting Bholenath in the month of Shravan. For this the devotees have set out on the Amarnath Yatra. Long queues were seen outside Saraswati Dham for immediate registration in Jammu on Friday as well. Thousands of devotees are doing this work every day. Tokens were issued to 3000 more devotees at the city base camps on Friday.

Of these, 2000 devotees will go through Pahalgam and 1000 through Baltal route. On the other hand, 241 saints and seers were immediately registered in the Ram temple. Of these, 197 will go via Pahalgam and 44 via Baltal route. 51 Sadhus have got themselves registered immediately in Geeta Bhavan.

Of these, 36 sadhus from Pahalgam and 15 from Baltal Marg will leave for Baba Barfani’s darshan. On Friday, 661 devotees were registered from Geeta Bhavan and 1017 in Vaishnavi Dham. 791 registrations have been done in Panchayat Bhavan. Of these, 456 pilgrims will go through Baltal and 335 via Pahalgam route.
