Shai Hope played his 100th ODI against India in Trinidad on Sunday (24 July). Hope has scored a brilliant century in his 100th ODI. This is the 13th century of his ODI career. Apart from this, for the third time against India, he has scored more than 100 runs. Hope has become the 10th batsman in the world to score a century in the 100th ODI.

He is the fourth West Indies batsman to score a century in the 100th ODI. After 16 years no player has done this for the Windies. The last time Ramnaresh Sarwan had achieved this feat was in 2006. Before Sarwan, explosive batsman Chris Gayle scored a century in the 100th ODI in 2004 and Gordon Greenidge in 1988. Greenidge was the first batsman in the world to do so.
This happened for the fourth time against India
Hope joined the exclusive club of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan by scoring a century. Dhawan and Warner have also scored centuries in the 100th ODI. It was Dhawan who did this before Hope. Four times a player from India scored a century in his 100th ODI.

West Indies scored 311 runs in 50 overs. He set a target of 312 runs for India to win. Shai Hope scored 115 runs for the Windies. He scored a century in his 100th ODI. He is the fourth West Indies batsman and the 10th batsman in the world to do so. Hope hit eight fours and three sixes in his 135-ball innings.

Apart from him, captain Nicholas Pooran played an innings of 74 runs. Kyle Meyers scored 39 and Shamrah Brooks scored 35. Romario Shepherd remained unbeaten on 15 and Akil Hossain scored six runs. Rovman Powell contributed 13 runs. Brandon King could not open account. Shardul Thakur took the highest three wickets for India. Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal got one success each.
